SCHEDULE NOTES
1 The reading period is subject to change in the event inclement weather or other extraordinary conditions occur during the semester and necessitate additional class make-up days at the end of the semester. Students should not make travel plans during the scheduled reading period.
2 Introduction to Analytical Skills II will meet for 10 weeks during the semester, from the week of January 9 through the week of March 20.
3 Criminal Procedure: Arrest and Investigation -- Students who have taken LAW 6112 Criminal Procedure Survey may not enroll in LAW 6117 Criminal Procedure: Arrest and Investigation.
4 Products Liability -- Students who have taken Advanced Topics in Law A: Products Liability (LAW 6932, Spring 2021 and Summer 2021) may not enroll in LAW 6702 Products Liability.
5 Prerequisite: Evidence is the prerequisite for Trial Practice
6 Prerequisite: Trial Practice is the prerequisite for Advanced Trial Practice.
7 Prerequisite: Wills and Estates is the prerequisite for Estate Planning.
8 Law Clinic – Application and permission required. Applications are available by emailing COL-Legalclinic@famu.edu. Applications are due October 28. Once a student accepts an offer for a clinic position, the Registrar will provide a registration permission number for course registration. Students are not permitted to drop the clinic without approval of the Clinic Office. Students may not withdraw from clinics after the end of Add/Drop. Questions? Contact Professor Mark Dorosin.
9 Law Clinic prerequisite: Professional Responsibility is the prerequisite for enrolling in Law Clinic.
10 Law Clinic Mandatory Orientation – Students enrolling in a clinic must attend a mandatory orientation. The clinic faculty will set the date and time of the orientation.
11 The course name of LAW 6958 has been changed to Economic Justice Clinic. iRattler has been updated.
12 The seminar component of the Economic Justice Clinic meets weekly on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:40 p.m.
13 The meeting day and time for the seminar component of the Guardian Ad Litem Clinic is to be determined.
14 The meeting day and time for the seminar component of the Mediation Clinic is to be determined.
15 Field Placement - Application and permission required. Applications are available by emailing COL-Fieldplacement@famu.edu. Applications are due October 28. 16 Prerequisite -- Professional Responsibility is the prerequisite for Field Placement.
17 The seminar portion of Field Placement will meet on three Wednesdays during the semester: January 11, February 8, March 8, and April 5. The class will meet in Room 257 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on those days. STUDENTS ENROLLED IN FIELD PLACEMENT MUST NOT ENROLL IN ANOTHER CLASS MEETING DURING THE WEDNESDAY 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 TIME BLOCK.
18 Upper-Level Writing Requirement – This seminar may satisfy the Upper-Level Writing Requirement. Contact the professor for more information regarding the specific requirements of this seminar.
